My husband does not usually ask for special things. So when he came downstairs yesterday and said "Do I smell cinnamon rolls?", I took the hint. This morning, I made up another batch of these delicious rolls, using vanilla frosting instead of cream cheese frosting - not sure which I like more. And of course, this batch had raisins - just for Dave!
Dough:
1 c warm milk
2 eggs
1/3 c melted butter
4 c flour
1/2 c sugar
1 packet rapid rise yeast
Filling:
1 c brown sugar
2 T cinnamon
Frosting
2 - 8oz. packages cream cheese
1/2 cup softened butter
1.5 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients to form dough. Place dough in a greased bowl and leave to rise until double
In another bowl add brown sugar and cinnamon and mix together
Flatten dough into rectangle; spread 1/2 c softened butter on dough;
Sprinkle brown sugar cinnamon mixture and roll up into a rectangle.
Slice into pieces (I use dental floss for a clean cut) and place in a buttered 9x13 pan.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, or until brown on the top.
Spread frosting and enjoy!!!
